Week of July 5, 2020 | Lesson 1 – The 10 Commandments | Exodus 19-20, 24

When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt after many years of slavery, He knew that without rules they would not treat each other as they should, and they would forget how to worship Him. These rules to live by (laws) are in the Old Testament books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. This week we’re going to learn about some of these laws, which we call the Ten Commandments. We’ll also learn that God gives us rules (laws, commandments) in the Bible that He expects us to obey. He knows that we need His rules to help us get along with others and to be happy.
